My Landscape series explores the physical and emotional intensity of immersion in wild places. These works are rooted in my personal experience of cold water swimming—where the boundaries between body, landscape, and self begin to dissolve.
Influenced by Carl Jung’s theory of the surface and the deep, my work moves between the external world and inner states of consciousness. I use gestural mark-making and abstract colour to express immediate, sensory responses to the natural environment. In the studio, I expand these moments into layered oil paintings that explore transformation, presence, and vulnerability.
Moving beyond the formal tradition of landscape painting, this series reflects my ongoing interest in psychological space, materiality, and the connection between body and place.
